A YouTuber and Life Coach named Anita warned women after her friend’s kidney was allegedly stolen during a Brazilian Butt Lift surgery (BBL) in the Dominican Republic.
Anita shared her friend’s terrifying experience in a video titled, “They Sold Her Kidney, life for her will never be the same | BBL HORROR STORY.”
“She went for a physical, and then she was just complaining of body aches, headaches, you know, just feeling really heavy all the time. So she went to the doctor, and the doctor tells her, ‘Hey, we just got your blood results. Why is your Kidney count low? During the CAT scan, it shows up that she only has one kidney,” she said in the video.
According to WebMD, a BBL is an extremely popular surgery in which “a doctor transfers fat from your abdomen, hips, lower back, or thighs to your buttocks.” Anita’s friend, in this case, flew to the Dominican Republic to receive the procedure but began suffering complications when she returned to the U.S.
“So down in the D.R., this botch organ-selling doctor took one of her kidneys, and she thought she was getting the steal of her life,” Anita said. She added that her friend paid $3,500 for the cosmetic surgery, as it was a deal she allegedly came across via Instagram.
While the YouTuber and Life Coach doesn’t mind that women want to get their bodies altered, she feels it’s been getting out of it.
“This is one of the most dangerous surgeries…When did it become such a trend to just roll the dice? ‘I might die, I might not die. I might have three to four kids, but I wanna get a BBL.’ Half of these people with BBLs don’t have a man, so I’m just like, what is going on, guys? Why do you wanna put your life on the line?”
Over the past decade, numerous women have died from risky BBL surgery. News Onyx even reported that an NYC Corrections Captain died from the procedure after a problematic doctor performed one on her in the Dominican Republic.
