Jakira T. Anderson, a Wisconsin woman, has been arrested for reportedly fatally shooting a a car dealership employee in Middleton for refusing to refund her for a leased car on the morning of March 20. According to Radar Online, Anderson is being charged with first degree intentional homicide and is being held on a $1 million bail.
Anderson went to the Middleton dealership to dispute a financial transaction on her car with 34 year old Kawsu Samba. Anderson, 23, argued for hours with Samba over the transaction, and was later seen on surveillance footage being repeatedly asked to leave the dealership. Samba was seen guiding her towards the door in the video, and upon reaching it, Anderson turned and drew a gun. The belligerent customer shot Samba in the chest, chased after him as he stumbled away, and than drove off in her car.
Authorities said that they recieved a slew of 911 calls about the shooting as it was happening and that later Anderson even called the police as well during the incident. The initial call made by Anderson included the sounds of a struggle and a gunshot before the call disconnected. 911 operators called her back and Anderson then alleged that Samba had forcefully touched her but did not mention the shooting.
After emergency responders arrived on the scene, Samba was taken to the hospital to be treated for a “direct hit to the right lung and heart,” but the injuries were too severe and he died after arriving at the nearby hospital.
Police found Anderson following Samba’s passing outside of her mother’s home. They arrested her in connection to the fatal shooting; during the interrogation, Anderson admitted to drawing her unregistered weapon but said that she fired because she felt the car dealership employee was threatening her. However, investigators were skeptical of her claims. She continued to explain that she was just trying “to scare him back or something, [and I] didn’t think I was going to hit him, I wasn’t even aiming or nothing,”
Anderson’s trial date hasn’t been formally announced.
