Windsor Locks Man David Wisdom Kills Wife, Stepdaughter’s Girlfriend And Himself In Murder-Suicide

David Wisdom, a Windsor Locks, Connecticut man, has been named as the shooter in the deaths of his wife Delores Tracy Wisdom, 44, and his stepdaughter’s girlfriend, 18-year-old Lauren Leslie, the Journal Inquirer reported. Reports claim that he fatally shot both women before turning the gun on himself. Delores Tracy’s daughter, who remains unnamed, was also shot during the murder-suicide incident but was transported to a local hospital and treated for her injuries.

Windsor Locks police responded to a 911 call about “popping noises” early Friday morning, May 28. Once at David and Delores Tracy’s shared home, officers found a grisly scene.

According to the Journal Inquirer, police discovered the bodies of David, 65,  Delores Tracy, and Leslie. All three had suffered obvious gunshot wounds and showed “no signs of life.” Leslie’s girlfriend, also David’s stepdaughter, was suffering a gunshot wound to her stomach. David’s son, also unnamed, was also discovered

at the home but was unharmed.

Connecticut’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later confirmed that the

cause of death for the three victims was a murder-suicide. As the police attempt to find a reason behind the fatal shooting, Leslie’s family revealed their beliefs that the teenager’s relationship could have been a factor.

Leslie allegedly told her older brothers about her girlfriend’s stepfather, David, being “uncomfortable” about their relationship, the Journal Inquirer reported. Because of that, they say, she would avoid spending time with her girlfriend there.

“We heard that is a narrative, but we don’t know if that was the trigger for everything that had happened,” Lt. Paul Cherniak, an investigator on the case, told the Journal Inquirer about the theory. “This could have been the result of an ongoing battle in a toxic relationship, or something could have recently surfaced which sparked what had happened,

This is a part of a greater issue in our society, especially black communities. It’s very difficult for us. We don’t have many safe spaces even with our family,” her brother Jhavier Leslie also said to the Journal Inquirer about his family’s loss. “I don’t want my sister’s death to be in vain. I hope change does happen with homophobia and the dangers around that, and also mental health and gun control.”

An official motive for the incident has not yet been established.
