An Oklahoma man was arrested for allegedly murdering his employee and burying the body under a septic tank. Sept. 20, 2021, was the last day that Brent Mack was heard from. He had called his girlfriend and told her he was being picked up to go to a job site where he was installing a septic tank. His employer, Daniel Joseph Triplett, was to drive him to the site.
Mack never returned home, prompting his daughter, Raychelle Wilson, to contact his employer by Facebook messenger. Triplett said he’d fired Mack that day in the Facebook exchange, paid him $1,000 in severance pay, and dropped him off in front of a laundromat in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Surveillance footage at the laundromat showed Triplett’s truck driving by but not stopping.
On Sept. 29, Wilson reported him missing to the Guthrie Police Department. She provided the police with screenshots of her Facebook conversation with Triplett, where he falsely stated the day’s activities. Triplett subsequently deleted the conversation.
After several weeks of searching, Mack’s body was found buried under the septic tank of Triplett’s client. Fox News reported that Triplett killed Mack on the worksite. Triplett was arrested and taken to the Logan County jail, facing charges related to the murder.
According to Black Enterprise, Triplett told investigators that he wanted to cut ties with Mack because of his violent demeanor. Triplett stated that they completed a job on Sept. 20. However, the property owner informed agents that the septic tank installation by Triplett was completed on Sept. 8.
KOCONews reported that surveillance footage near the job site showed two men arriving, but only one man left at the end of the day. Mack’s bag was found in a yard. His body was found under the newly installed septic tank with a bullet hole in the chest. He was shot in the back.
