On Sunday, tempers flared, and a minor annoyance went from an argument to a physical altercation when “the N-word” was uttered by a white man to a Black passenger on the same flight.
According to the woman who recorded the fight, a passenger became irritated when the aggressor took too long to retrieve his belongings from an overhead compartment. In response, the slow-moving passenger, a white man, used a racial slur against the irritated passenger and punched him.
Kiera Piere Louis, who goes by the rap name Milli Miami, recorded the brawl and explained what she witnessed to Local 10.
“You can see the white man on top of the Black passenger just beating him between the seats. The flight attendant got involved,” she said.
But not only did the racist instigator punch the man, his entire family, including his wife, son, and son’s girlfriend, but he also got in on the action. In truth, the victim was jumped.
According to Mili Miami, police detained the victim of the assault, and she believed it was due to racism.
“Racism, of course,” Milli Miami said. “The black passenger had to wait on the plane when he didn’t even start it, and the police, while we were walking off the plane, walked right past the person, the white man who actually initiated everything. “
To avoid the appearance of racism, Miami-Dade police disputed reports that the victim was held on the plane while the white man who caused the altercation was allowed to leave freely. Instead, officials say that the victim wanted to file a report but, unfortunately, decided not to press charges.
Airline violence has risen recently. Through May, there have been about 2,500 incidents recorded of bad behavior among passengers. One of the reasons that have been offered to explain this is “pandemic fatigue,” where people have forgotten how to behave in public due to quarantine.
Frontier Airlines claimed that one of the parties disobeyed requests from the flight crew to remain on the aircraft. It is obvious that it was the white man.
White rage is the eternal epidemic. In such volatile times, Black passengers should try their best to avoid conflict, but they should make sure to record and press charges if they cannot.
