A white lady pulled a gun on a Black family at a mall in Vancouver, Washington, on June 9. The Columbian reported that the woman was reportedly having an altercation with the family, who were all unarmed.
The Vancouver Police Department was alerted and arrived at the Westfield Mall around 4 p.m. to discover that no one was injured. They also found that the gun was not loaded at the time of their arrival. The woman yielding the firearm claimed that she was protecting her teenager from the Black family, who she thought would attack her daughter.
The two teens in question can be seen screaming at each other during a verbal altercation on a video recorded by a passerby. The white lady pulled her gun and pointed it at the Black family as she and her clan walked out of a Lids hat store. Mall security managed to keep the girls away from each other until the police arrived, but they did nothing about the woman repeatedly pointing her gun at the family.
Twitter user Ryan Shead posted the video with a caption.
“This woman pulled her gun in a Lids hat store. The Kids walked in-front of the gun. I know, let’s make it even easier for these people to get and carry guns. Clearly they are responsible individuals. I hate it here right now.”

No doubt, had things been reversed, the woman would have been tackled to the ground, tasered or shot. No arrests were made, but Vancouver police have referred the incident to the Vancouver City Attorney’s Office. The woman who pulled the gun could face a charge of displaying a firearm.
The two teens reportedly have a history of fighting. Video of the incident went viral and garnered more than 40 million views on social media. No word yet on if the Vancouver City Attorney’s Office will pursue the incident.
