A Virginia food bank worker caught on camera telling her neighbor she was “not the right color” for the neighborhood has been fired for her racist behavior.

In a video posted on social media, two Colonial Heights neighbors seem to be in the middle of a confrontation when the white woman—identified as Chesterfield Food Bank (CFB) employee Hilary Langlois—is heard saying, “Trash like you. Watch me. Watch me handle this. Watch me. You are not the right color, honey!”

The video then jumps to where the owner of the house, a Black woman, approaches Langlois and asks, “I’m a n***er? I’m a n***er?”

Langlois shouted in reply, “YES, YOU ARE! YES, YOU ARE!”

According to the Daily News, this is not the first time the two have had issues. Langlois has previously called the police making false reports and profiling her neighbor, Laquetta Good, as a drug dealer.

“Let’s rewind back to the beginning when she called the police to search my house for drugs because her words were I couldn’t afford my house. I never leave the house, so I had to sell drugs because I’m black and had a Porsche,” Good wrote on Facebook, following the incident on Thursday. “Yes, the POLICE SURE DID SEARCH MY HOUSE FOR DRUGS SMH. No drugs were found. I work from home!! This has been going on for MONTHS.”

The food bank’s CEO, Kim Hill, expressed

her disappointment regarding Langlois’ racist behavior to The Progress-Index, saying, “It was between neighbors. It is still sad and an unfortunate situation.”

Via a statement the CFB leader shared on the food bank’s Facebook page, Hill wrote, “We want to thank everyone for reaching out to us in regards to the video and story that was posted this morning regarding a confrontation between an individual and one of our employees in their neighborhood.”

“We, here at the CFB, are broken-hearted to view this conduct as it goes directly against our values and beliefs. We are honored to serve everyone in need with dignity & integrity. In response to this situation, we have terminated this employee,” she continued. “We remain committed to creating and providing a positive, uplifting, and encouraging environment for our staff, volunteers, and clients. Thank you for your continued support.”

 

Good’s friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help her relocate from the neighborhood.
