Three New York City women were arrested after destroying a Bel Fries restaurant and attacking two of its workers for a $1.75 charge for additional sauce. The attack happened on Sunday, July 3, around 4 a.m. The viral video of the heinous act has surfaced all over the internet.
The chaos occurred because the women didn’t want to pay extra for another sauce.
“Two of my employees were hit in the head with glass bottles,” owner Annalee Schlossberg told CBS. Those two employees were taken to the hospital to get treated for the cuts they received from the women.
Schlossberg wasn’t present at the time, but she woke up to the video of the attack.
“There’s something going on with them, and it didn’t have to do with us, clearly, because it was over sauce, the owner said. “That shouldn’t call for that behavior.”
According to CBS News, police arrested Pearl Ozoria, Chitara Plasencia, and Tatiyanna Johnson on Sunday, and the three comrades all face felony charges. Plasencia and Johnson were released, and Ozoria was the sole bandit group member who had to post bail for allegedly stealing $10 from the register and punching an officer in the face during her arrest.
In the video, the three women can be seen climbing over the counter and destroying the barrier that separates the customers from the workers. A worker filmed the suspects allegedly vandalizing the Lower East Side fry shop and throwing glass bottles at the workers– among other items.
While the women continued ripping and destroying everything, a crowd behind them cheered them on.
“As mad as these women were, as crazy as they were acting, I think that was egging them on,” Schlossberg said.
The three women went back to court on July 8.
Schlossberg has hired a security guard at Bel Fries to ensure the incident won’t happen again.
