On August 4, a woman pulled out a small handgun and shot another woman execution-style in Brooklyn. The NYPD released video footage showing Delia Johnson’s murder.
The video shows an unidentified woman wearing black leggings, a silver belt, black and white sneakers, and a big white purse. She got out of a double-parked white sedan on Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights, walked around a parked BMW, stepped onto the curb, walked across the sidewalk and pulled a small handgun from behind her back.
She then proceeded to casually shoot Johnson, 42, point-blank in the back of the head as she was speaking to a group of people on a stoop. The witnesses watched in horror as the killer walked back to the car and drove off.

Johnson’s mother, Delia Berry, told FOX 5 New York’s Jessica Formoso that the killer was someone they knew.
“She shot my baby in the street. She used to come to my home, eat in my house. I can’t put it together. I can’t understand. I don’t understand that kind of violence today.”
Johnson’s brother, Mathis Johnson, is devastated. He told the Daily News that he believes the shooter followed Johnson from a neighborhood funeral they both attended earlier that day.
“She was at a funeral earlier in the evening for an old neighborhood friend to pay her respects, and then this happened,” he said. “It was horrible. That lady executed my sister.”

Family members said Johnson was an entrepreneur and the mother of a 17-year-old daughter. Her mother, Delia Barry, said, “I’m in so much pain, I’m numb…trying my best to hold myself up but the slaughter, that’s what it was.”
