NFL baller Antonio Brown made headlines this past Sunday after the 33-year-old athlete walked off of the field in the middle of a game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a team he joined as a wide receiver in 2020, and the New York Jets, reportedly removing his jersey and pads and making a grand exit off of the field.
Following the game and the Buccaneers securing a victory by four points, head coach of the team Bruce Arians
revealed that Brown was “no longer a Buc,” according to CBS Sports. Speaking with sports journalist Jay Glazer after the incident, Arians reportedly shared that he witnessed Brown remove his jersey, adding that he “never seen anything like it in all my years.”Related Post: Serena Williams to Help Black Small Business-Owners by Supporting Opportunity Fund
That same day, Brown shared a photo of himself catching a football while dressed in his Buccaneers uniform on his Instagram. Showing gratitude for the opportunity to play for the Florida-based NFL team, he captioned the post, “Big MAD (Making A Difference) Thanks for the opportunity 🤙🏽🐝”
According to CBS Sports, Brown walked off during the game’s third quarter and handed some of his equipment to nearby attendants. In a now-viral video posted online by sportscaster Jeff Skversky, he can be seen taking off what appears to be a black undershirt before tossing it towards the crowd, waving his arms at fans, running across the field shirtless and exiting the game.
Seemingly slamming the former Pittsburgh Steelers player for his behavior last Sunday, fellow football stay O.J. Simpson shared in a video, “For him to pull what he pulled today is completely inexcusable. Playoffs are coming up, and you pull this crap on a guy who really went out on a limb for you, totally BS. Inexcusable.”
