It’s been a little over a year since most of the world went on lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While everyone was stuck at home to quarantine, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz, both hip-hop mega-producers, started Verzuz, a virtual show featuring a series of musical matchups who go head-to-head against each other’s catalog.
Timbaland and Beatz started the battle off by themselves in March 2020 via Instagram Live. And since then, the success they’ve received has been pouring in from fans and sponsors, as millions tuned in to see artists like Brandy, Monica, Gucci Mane and Jeezy battle at the virtual event.

Since announcing their recent team-up with Triller, Verzuz has now partnered with Peloton to bring the popular music battle show to your at-home workouts in a unique way. Peloton users will be able to use a “Tag function” during class to determine which artist they’re rooting for, making it a fun and personal workout experience.
“Alongside Swizz Beatz and Timbaland themselves, get ready to sweat to the tune of head-to-head musical celebrations featuring iconic past Verzuz match-ups—all from your Peloton App,” their site says.
According to Peloton, the fitness equipment giant is “uniting the Verzuz and Peloton experiences into an unmissable series of classes throughout our year-long partnership.” Peloton users can also bike, run or train to past Verzuz battles.
“Imagine having that playlist of that Verzuz, and you’re hearing your favorite songs from those artists while you’re going on your journey,” Beatz
said about the partnership. Timbaland added, “Music drives a workout…Music and fitness is like brothers and sisters.”Peloton is starting their partnership with a Brandy vs. Monica battle to honor Women’s History Month and is available through select running and biking classes until April. According to Variety, Beatz and Timbaland will be the next faceoff for Peloton users.
