The funeral for Tyre Sampson, a 14-year-old who tragically fell from an amusement park ride last month, has been held.
According to KSDK, funeral services were held in St. Louis County at Saint Louis University. Sampson was buried at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Family, friends and loved ones all came to pay their respects and remember him.
Family friend Kelly Southhall said, “There’s a lot of love here. There’s a lot of support. No mother should have to go through this.”
Vida Weekly, a former teacher of his, said, “I would always tease him about the size of his shoe. He would joke and laugh it off. He would say, ’17! Say it real proud.'”
Rapper YK Osiris offered to cover funeral costs for a 14-year-old. He shared a post on social media:
“If anybody knows his family tell them to DM me because I want to pay for his funeral cost,” Osiris wrote.
However, Sampson’s father, Yarnell, has denied receiving any funds.
Osiris shared a video showing his donation on GoFundMe to prove the funds were sent.
