Investigation into the case of missing Arizona geologist Daniel Robinson has gained some new information. Just before his disappearance, Daniel sent text messages to a woman with whom he was reportedly obsessed.
The 24-year-old man went missing after leaving his worksite in the desert in June. His father eventually hired a private investigator after a series of missteps and lack of urgency by the local police department.
Now, DailyMail had exclusively reported that Daniel communicated with someone else before he arrived at his worksite. He only remained at the worksite for about 15 minutes before he left and went missing.
“The world can get better, but I’ll have to take all the time I can, or we can, whatever, to name it,” he wrote to a woman named Katelyn.
Daniel’s text message went on to read, “‘I’ll either see you again or never see you again.”
According to the Buckeye Police Department, Daniel met Katelyn while working as an Instacart driver, his side job. Katelyn has said that she and her friends were inebriated and let him in. They exchanged numbers.
However, from that point, Daniel allegedly began engaging in obsessive behavior such as showing up at her home unannounced and text messages professing his love for her.
In the police report, she said that in hindsight, she and her friends should have never invited Daniel in but because he is an amputee and his relatively diminutive height, she felt that he was no threat.
On June 20, she said Daniel sent her a text message saying that he loved her. She directly responded to him, writing, “Honestly, you showing up at my house unannounced made me extremely uncomfortable, she responded. “I don’t see us hanging out any time soon.”
The next day, he came to her home unannounced again.
She responded by reiterating that his behavior was unacceptable, to which he texted, “Do you hate me?”
She told him but asked him to leave her alone. Eighteen hours later, he went missing.
Police have advised Katelyn to use the state’s stalker laws and suggested she file a complaint.
Although Daniel still has not been located, the behavior his family reported in the weeks leading up to his disappearance may provide helpful clues as to what may have happened after he left his job.
