Philadelphia twins Janaya and Jonathan Boston McCray are graduating seniors at William W. Bodine High School at the top of their class, with the distinction of Valedictorian (Jonathan) and Salutatorian (Janaya).
According to 6 ABC News, the pair heavily support and rely on one another.
“We motivate each other at all times like we compete for grades and everything,” Janaya said.
Jonathan shared her feelings and said the key to their success had been each other and the support of their parents.
“I watched my parents sacrifice a lot for me and my sister throughout the years,” said Jonathan.
The twins did more than focus on their scholastics during high school; they also were active members of sports teams.
Janaya played basketball for the school, and Jonathan ran track.
Their history teacher Kate Raber, celebrated the siblings, saying they are more than just academically adept.
“They are students who know their minds. They’re students who know how to elevate their voices and their own classmates,” Raber said.
Jonathan shared a photo of himself alongside his sister in their graduation gear and said, “Good Morning, Facebook Family and Friends! I am pleased to announce that I will graduating as Valedictorian and my twin sister Janaya will be graduating Salutatorian. We will be giving graduation speeches. The hard work paid off. I have to give all honor and praise to God 🙌🏾🙂. I will never thought I would be graduating first in my class in High School!”.
Janya and Jonathan are first-generation college students and both plan on attending college with full-ride scholarships.

Janaya will be starting at Temple University and wished to pursue a career as a veterinarian.
Meanwhile, as a pre-law student, Jonathan will be headed to Howard University and has hopes to one day become President and follow in the footsteps of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
The duo is expected to graduate from high school on June 10th, which just so happens to be their 18th birthday.
It will be a truly memorable day for the twins and their family and friends.
