Toffara Snow, the husband of Capucine Carson, has been charged with her murder in Orange County, Florida. He was also charged with attempted murder in the shooting of his former wife’s three-year-old daughter.
On June 6, Snow allegedly gunned down his wife and shot her daughter in their Orlando home. Police found Capucine Carson dead when they were dispatched to her apartment at around 11:30 p.m., reported WKMG. Kimbella, the daughter, was found wounded and transported to a local hospital.
Carson’s sister, Nesha Carson, said she heard her sister arguing with her husband on the phone and then heard gunshots. At the time, Carson was planning on taking her daughter to a hotel to get away from the then-unidentified assailant.
A witness, Mo’Nique Keys, was visiting a friend when Snow allegedly shot Carson and her daughter.
“I heard, ‘pah pah pah,’ four times, and I told my friend, ‘I heard gunshots,” Keys said. “My friend, she stays over here, I just come over to get my nails done, so I was just caught up in the middle of it real quick.”
By Monday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office was attempting to speak with Snow about the incident when he fled into a Big Lots store. At that time, he shot himself and was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
Toffara Snow was still in the hospital as of Tuesday, but he was arrested and charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and attempted first-degree murder with a firearm.
Kimbella is currently still in the hospital as well, but her condition has not been updated. Carson was from Alabama and had just returned from visiting family. Nesha Carson said that Snow had a history of violent behavior towards Carson.
Her sister described Carson as a “cool laid back” person who had only moved to Orlando in the last few years and was an employee at Target.
