Social media went into a frenzy after a TikTok mom cut off her teenage daughter’s box braids and natural hair to teach her a lesson.
The mom, whose @3ella_3osselina TikTok account is now private, posted a video of her controversial form of punishment that received a lot of backlash in the comments section and on Twitter.
So this mom cuts off her daughter’s hair because ‘being cute ain’t shit’, then turns around & uses a filter to attempt to make her own damn self ‘CUTE’ !! WTH?! pic.twitter.com/Wy7tSSza9p

The mom set up the camera, revealing her and her daughter with a filter on her face.
“Come here, you’re going to learn today, girl,” the TikTok mom said to her teenager. “No physical discipline.”
The daughter contested, trying to block her mom from what was to come.
“Mom,” the girl said.
“Don’t ‘mom’ me,” the woman responded while cutting the braids off. “No. You had your warning, you had your chance. I told you to listen. I told you to stop disobeying my rules. I told you being cute ain’t s**t if you have no education. I told you to stop disobeying me. I told you to listen and do as you’re supposed to. I told you to do good in school.”
She continued, “I told you to do your daily routine and you’ve yet to do any of it. And you you were disobeying me today and I was not coming to cut this hair off. You’re sadly mistaken because you thought being pretty was so much better than being educated and listening to your mom, right? Yeah.”
The mother then tilted the top of her daughter’s head to reveal the results, saying, “This is what happens when you don’t listen to your mom.”
In another clip, the mom explained herself to viewers.
“The crazy thing is, today, I had to do something that, like, I really didn’t want to do but I had to do to teach my child a lesson,” she said. “We try to be better than our parents and I try really hard to be the best mother that I can be.”
The clip cuts to the mother with her daughter, responding to a comment that read, “What happened to taking a mobile phone and devices? Wow.”
The mom pointed the camera at her daughter and asked if she felt traumatized, and the daughter said, “no.”
“Do you feel like I abused you?” The daughter said she didn’t.
“Do you feel like this form of discipline was a lot better than any form of discipline like physical abuse that I could’ve used?”
The daughter responded with “yes.” The teenager’s mom then told her that she loved her, got her back, and only did what she did to make her a better person.
When asked, the daughter admitted that her mother spoke to her about her behavior for about a year. The mom revealed that her daughter has failed to do and turn in her homework many times and received numerous calls about her daughter from the school.
Another video showed the mom had bought her daughter a wig, which they were both happy about.
“They think you’re some type of, like, victim or something,” she said while keeping the camera on her happy child. Her daughter confirmed she wasn’t a victim while showing off her pretty wig.
“They don’t understand that it’s really this easy to put a wig on,” the mother said. “You learned your lesson, like the lesson was learned…I warned you before I even put it on TikTok that if you continued with this behavior, because you like the app so much, that I’m going to cut your hair off, record it and post it. I told you this from three months ago. And I’ve been telling you every week. …So this didn’t come as a real shock to you, you were just shocked that I actually finally did it.”
The daughter agreed with her mom and said that she wasn’t hurt
“You guys, this is my baby,” the mom said while wrapping her arms around her daughter. “This is me, this is me right here. So, yes, she had to learn a hard lesson today because being pretty is not s**t. Education comes first.”
The mom ended the video by emphasizing that being pretty doesn’t go far in the real world.

Twitter users voiced their disgust for the mom’s actions.
My heart breaks for the mom who cut her daughter’s hair off. No parent should ever feel the need to take such drastic measures. #parenting #familylove

Another TikToker showed in a video a screenshot of a deleted video the mom posted explaining the “real” reason she cut her daughter’s hair. The daughter, who is 14, was allegedly talking to grown men on the internet and skipping class to do it.
