The Jenesis House Will Be The First Black Woman-Owned Wellness Resort in Arizona

As 2021 kicks all our butts, Jenesis Laforcarde is planning to bring a self-care oasis named The Jenesis House to Arizona.

Per Travel Noire, the Jenesis House will be in Prescott, a city about 100 miles from Phoenix. The property will be Arizona’s first Black woman-owned wellness resort. Less than 1 percent of all hotels are owned by Black women, per the resort’s website.

It will feature 13 cabin studios, a private meditation studio and a living moss wall to filter impurities from the air. Each studio will have its own deep soaking tub.

“The last few years have forced many people in this world to reevaluate the options that they have to mitigate the stresses that life imposes upon us all,” Laforcade told Travel Noire. “With that in mind, The Jenesis House is an ideal solution that will help people relieve stress in an enjoyable and safe environment.”

The Jenesis House will also have a full-service spa featuring luxurious services like caviar rose petal facials and muscle healing massages. There will also be a Nordic spa, which will have a plunge pool. Guests will also be able to administer IV therapy in their rooms.

“IV drip therapy will be available in the privacy of guests’ rooms so they can truly relax and focus on hydrating the body,” Laforcade explained to Travel Noire. “Two movement studios strategically placed under the property’s trees and creek will allow guests to get moving in classes such as cardio and Pilates. Guests can also access classes virtually via the fitness library, available 24/7.”

If you end up staying at The Jenesis House, your tummy will also receive self-care from dishes prepared by The Greenhouse Restaurant. Chefs in the culinary program use produce from the resort’s gardens, so it’s hella fresh. The Ice House, a self-serve frozen yogurt hut, will also be available for guests with a sweet tooth.

“We are feeding the body and highlighting our farm-to-table philosophy,” Laforcade said. “Guests will dine in a glass enclosure under leaves of green, a true dine-in experience.”

The Jenesis House will open in late 2022. Laforcade started a crowd-funding campaign on iFundWomen where interested travelers can prebook their stays.
