A brazen Spirit Airlines passenger, during a flight from Detroit to Fort Lauderdale, lit a cigarette to smoke while she was still aboard the plane.
The Miami Herald reported that the ballsy passenger sparked the cigarette after the flight landed and was taxiing to the gate on Tuesday.
On Tuesday morning, video footage from a passenger’s cellphone detailed the audacious act and fellow passenger’s reactions.
Alexa Majdalawi, a passenger on the plane who is asthmatic, said she asked the woman to stop smoking.
“She literally took out a cigarette and just started smoking,” the 31-year-old passenger told Fox News. “I said, ‘Is this real life?’
“She’s smoking it in my face,” she added. “She’s turning around to blow it.”
After the inconsiderate lady didn’t comply, Majdalawi told a flight attendant that the smoke affected her ability to breathe.
Sheriffs from Broward County entered the plane looking for the woman. She had fallen asleep.
“I’ve had a long day,” the indignant lady told the officers.
The sheriffs paid her no mind and proceeded to get her bags to escort the lady off the plane.
One sister, who was also tired of the woman’s shenanigans, could be seen on the video, saying, “Oh my God, come get her, bro!”
“Somebody call 9-1-1. Please come get her,” she continued as surrounding passengers chuckled.
Spirit Airlines spoke with the Miami Herald regarding the incident.
“When Flight 845 from Detroit was taxiing to the gate in Fort Lauderdale, a passenger inexplicably decided to light a cigarette in violation of federal law. Flight attendants noticed the odor, and the other guests were quick to point out who was responsible and hand over what remained of the extinguished cigarette. Our crew summoned law enforcement officers to have them waiting at the gate to remove the passenger.”
This isn’t the first time a passenger lit up on the economy airline.
In 2019, a passenger lit a cigarette mid-flight, to the surprise of the other passengers. The man seated next to him hit the call button, and a male flight attendant proceeded to tell the smoker that the act was prohibited and illegal.
And with all the caucasity the smoker could muster, he pretended that this was the first time he ever heard the mandate.
He was also escorted off the plane and had to pay a $4,000 fine.
Old girl caught a break. She was not arrested.
Whew, chile. The ghetto.
