On the third episode of the podcast ‘Two Lies and One Truth’, host Brandi Rhodes featured former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal on a podcast that centers around parenting. In the October 27 release, Shaq sat down to open up about his “larger than life” family, respecting his exes and those who raise his six children.
The 7’1” giant talked about his principles preventing him from calling his “baby mommas” as such when referring to ex-wife Shaunie Henderson whom he shares four kids with, and ex-girlfriend Arnetta Yardbourgh who he has a daughter with. He explained the refusal as a matter of deep respect.
“Their moms did a great job of planning activities,” Shaq said while praising the two women for being involved with their kids by regularly keeping them busy with activities. “You know you women need a lot more credit and a lot more respect because you guys do really all the work. That’s why women are the strongest beings on this planet. You guys have to do so much.” He continued.
“That’s why I don’t ever use the term ‘baby mommas.’ I don’t have baby mommas. I have two beautiful gorgeous women that definitely took care of me and put up with my BS. And did a great of raising six babies.” Shaq revealed.
He repeated himself, “That’s why I don’t want to degrade them by saying baby mommas. They’re two beautiful black women that did a tremendous job.”
Other interview topics centered around Shaq talking about his parenting technique, using his “face as [his] belt” for discipline, and his kids’ interest in roughhousing with each other, gymnastics, and volleyball.
