Rick Ross Is Possibly Getting Into The NASCAR Business, Could Increase The Black Community’s Interest In The Industry

Rick Ross owns more than 20 Wingstop franchises, Checkers and Rally’s restaurants, partnerships with Rap Snacks, Luc Belaire and Bumbu spirit brands, and invested $1 million in JetDoc. Now, there are rumors he’s looking into doing business with NASCAR.

According to a tweet from Adam Stern from Fox Business Journal, Rick Ross was spotted attending a NASCAR race in Atlanta.

“@RickRoss attended the NASCAR race at Atlanta last weekend and met with industry folks,” Stern tweeted. “He is said to be interested in collaborating with @NASCAR either through promotions or even possibly becoming a team investor.”

Rick Ross didn’t confirm or deny the rumors. Still, he took to Instagram with a photo of an Instagram post on the story, encouraged a discussion on the matter, and asked what it would look like if the Black community was involved in the NASCAR culture.

“Let’s keep this conversation going!” He wrote in the caption. “Who loves @nascar? How could our community get more involved with @nascar? What would you like to see different or enhanced in the @nascar culture?”

The meeting isn’t the first time the rapper has shown interest in NASCAR. A few months ago, Rick Ross held a car show at his mansion, known as “The Promise Land.” He posted pictures and videos of him and his new NASCAR race car.

There’s a strong possibility that the rapper is trying to get more Black people involved in the NASCAR industry since it is worth over $600 million. Statista shows less than 10% of Black Americans were interested in NASCAR between 2016 and 2017.
