Police have reportedly found new audio of Christian Obumseli’s girlfriend calling him the n-word weeks before fatally stabbing him.
Phone recordings revealed that Clenney called Obumseli the racial slur during a heated argument weeks before his death, NBC reported. Prosecutors retrieved the recordings from a Miami-Dade state attorney’s office, but the dates in which they were made are currently unknown. Amid the investigation of his tragic death, they’ve said it’s further evidence that Clenney verbally attacked him.
In one of the recordings, the couple reportedly argued about Obumseli saying hi to another girl on a bike ride.
“What is going on? Are you gonna get this mad at me when I’m apologizing to you?” he asked.
“Drop your high pitch,” the OnlyFans model shouted at him.
“OK. I’m not doing it on purpose,” Obumseli responded.
The future victim then started apologizing to Clenney, but his girlfriend interrupted, yelling, “Shut up and let me f****ng slap you,” before demanding that he find her smartphone.
Eventually, she disturbingly called him the n-word.
In another audio recording, Clenney asked Obumseli if he’s done “gaslighting” her.
“Courtney, that’s a f*****ng threat. I apologized, but you hit me,” he replied, as it seemed that she slapped him.
Police recovered the phone recordings following his brutal murder at the couple’s luxury high-rise Miami apartment in April. It’s finally being used as evidence in the murder trial after previously being released to the public by the Miami Herald.
Video footage revealed that when officers arrived, Clenney was drenched in blood on her balcony. According to an autopsy report, Obumseli suffered a “stab wound to the chest… and that the knife punctured the subclavian artery.”
“I know it’s going to be very, very painful when [his relatives] hear this … I see it as a consistent pattern with someone who is unhinged and out of control,” The Obumseli family’s lawyer, Larry Handfield, said. “[Clenney] is the aggressor and abuser in this whole relationship.”
