In a bizarre and comical turn of events, a Chicago man is facing felony charges after allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint and staying at the crime scene to enjoy some of the victim’s fried chicken.
It all started when Kenneth Flesch, a 35-year-old Chicago resident, walked home late on Saturday with a bag of fried chicken. Enter James Taylor, a 20-year-old with a hankering for some chicken and a lack of morals. Taylor approached Flesch and asked him for a lighter, to which Flesch responded that he didn’t have one. That’s when things took a turn for the worse.
The suspect pulled out a gun and demanded that Flesch hand over his chicken, car keys, and wallet. Flesch complied, thinking that the ordeal was over and that he could go home and eat his remaining chicken in peace. But Taylor had other plans.
Instead of making a quick getaway, Taylor decided to hop into Flesch’s car and start chowing down on his chicken. We can only imagine the look on Flesch’s face as he watched his assailant enjoying his hard-earned meal.

But the victim didn’t let Taylor’s chicken thievery go unpunished. He quickly called the police, who arrived on the scene in a matter of minutes. When they arrived, they found Taylor still sitting in the car, munching away on the chicken like he didn’t have a care in the world.
Police promptly arrested him and charged him with armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and illegal possession of a debit card.
Taylor was allowed to go home on an electronic monitor after posting a $15,000 bail. But his troubles are far from over. If convicted, he faces a minimum sentence of 21 years in prison, which is a lot of time to think about what he did to poor Kenneth Flesch and his fried chicken.
