A Myrtle Beach man is facing charges after he reportedly threatened two people after a woman turned down his romantic advances.
William Desean Fields, 40, was arrested on June 14 and slapped with four charges, WBTW reported. The charges include first-degree assault and battery, pointing and presenting a firearm at another person and marijuana possession.
The incident occurred in early June at the Patricia Hotel in Myrtle Beach, according to a police report obtained by CBS 17. Fields was staying at the hotel when he approached a female employee and asked her out. When the woman told Fields, she was not interested. He stated he was “going to kill her.”
After the declaration, Fields retrieved body armor and a magazine of bullets. The frightened victim fled the scene because she was worried about her safety. As she left, a male employee intervened and tried to get Fields to calm down.
Fields showed the man a gun in a duffle bag and told him he would “spray the place up.”
The man told his supervisor about Fields’ behavior, but he was discouraged from contacting the police because the manager wanted to do an internal investigation, per Myrtle Beach Online. The victims eventually reported the incident on their own.
This incident isn’t the first time Fields has been arrested. In 2018, he was charged with four counts of sexual misconduct after he was caught touching four girls at a swimming pool, per WPDE. Surveillance video reportedly showed Fields touching three of the victims on their behinds and one on her genitalia. Myrtle Beach Online reported the case is still pending.
