Louisiana Mom Demands Answers After Toddler is Attacked at Daycare

A Louisiana mother is demanding answers after her 19-month-old daughter was allegedly attacked by another toddler at daycare.

On February 9, Cymande Ford, mother of the young baby girl was called into Angel’s Haven Daycare in Holleygrove, Louisiana.

According to WGNO, when Ford arrived, she was immediately horrified to see her daughter’s face.

“I see Harley’s face, and it looks like she’s been mauled by a cat, so I start screaming, I’m crying, I dropped my purse, and I ask what happened,” Ford said. “I took Harley, and I’m just asking the school’s director what happened.”

The school’s director told Ford her daughter was involved in a “tussle” with another one-year-old. She and her daughter joined Ford and Haley to the emergency room for a check-up.

“Seven bites up one arm, she has a couple bites up the other arm, she has pants on, but the 1-year-old has bitten through her pants on both legs,” Ford continued. “You can see the teeth marks; they’re clear and visible.”

When nurses asked what time the event occurred, Ford was alarmed to hear the director’s daughter say it happened earlier that morning, despite being called at 11 am.

Now, Ford is demanding answers from the daycare to find out what happened and why it took so long for them to notify her of the incident.

“It was hard enough for me to send my child to daycare because I’m a business owner. This is just crazy for this to be happening on her third day after something that I already fought myself with so much,” the mother added.

Ford is the small business owner of the Ugly Betty Boy Crush jewelry shop, about 15 minutes from the daycare.

A report was filed with the New Orleans Police Department and The Department of Children and Family Services is investigating the incident.
