Negotiations between the Southampton Saints and Liverpool FC haven’t concluded over soccer midfielder Romeo Lavia. According to Sky Sports on August 1, Southampton has rejected Liverpool’s improved bid of $45,002,215 and room for add-ons.
Southampton has valued 19-year-old Lavia at nearly $55 million, and they’re not budging on their estimate because Liverpool has just under two weeks before they start their Premier League season against Chelsea. Liverpool is feeling the pressure without a senior midfielder.
$55 million was actually the second offer from Liverpool. The first, proposed by coach Jurgen Klopp, made an offer of just over $38 million. They seem hopeful to snag Lavia before their first game of the season, but after the rejection of their second bid, negotiations don’t seem hopeful. If Klopp is unable to secure Lavia, then Liverpool is hoping for Fluminense Andre as an alternative.
However, the Belgium native Lavia is being scouted by several teams for his midfield prowess after showing off his skill with Southampton.

As reported by Liverpool Echo, Liverpool is desperate to fill their midfield after their seniors Fabinho and Henderson moved teams, leaving Klopp with a need to fill the spot of a connecting piece.
Earlier, Klopp acknowledged, “It’s no secret that we’re still looking for new players to join us. That’s one thing, but the other thing is using what you have.”
“A proven number six is not available at this moment. Do we make excuses? No, then we would have a problem. Over a season, a lot of things can happen.”
