LeBron James gifted his mother, Gloria James, a white Mercedes G-Wagon for her 54th birthday.
Gloria posted a photo of herself happily standing next to the vehicle on Instagram. She had a huge grin across her face while her hands were in the air. Underneath the picture, she wrote a caption expressing gratitude to her son for her gift.
“Thank you, my caring and giving son, @kingjames, for my early surprise birthday gift!” she said. “You’re always thinking of and doing things to help make my life easier and make me happy. Love you infinity.” She ended her caption with multiple heart emojis.
Gloria’s birthday is reportedly on Feb. 4, but LeBron purchased it for her in advance as a surprise.
Three weeks prior, she uploaded a heartwarming Instagram slideshow of her and LeBron in commemoration of his 37th birthday. Its caption was equally as sweet, saying,
“Wishing my one and only son, @kingjames, a blessed and Happy 37th Birthday!!!! I pray that all of your wishes in life continue to come true. Love you, Momma.”
That day, the four-time NBA champion uploaded photos of himself donning grills, an iced out jewelry, and an all-black ensemble with the caption,
“37 of them thangs around the [sun]! Rumble Young Man Rumble!! I appreciate all the love today from family, friends, partners, associates, colleagues, fans and haters for the bday wishes!!! Been a great one and still, 2 and half hours left! Love y’all coming straight from the King’s Throne! #thekidfromAKRON.”
On Jan. 23, the 37-year-old played against his former team, the Miami Heat, at the FTX Arena in Miami, Fla. He scored a minimum of 25 points in the game, which was his 17th time doing so, making him 2,000 points away from former basketball player Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s all-time scoring record.
