Larry Demery and Daniel Green were sentenced in the killing of NBA superstar Michael Jackson’s father, James Jordan, in 1995. But Demery, whose initial parole was set for 2023 and later changed to August 2024, had his parole canceled earlier this week, CBS Sports reported, with officials stating that the “agreement has been terminated.”
A reason for the canceled parole reportedly has not been disclosed.
According to CBS Sports, Demery initially testified that he aided Green in moving James’ body to a swamp and claimed that Green shot the 56-year-old as part of a robbery attempt.
Green has since denied that he killed James. Speaking with WRAL in the late 1990s, the convicted man
said, “I did not kill Mr. Jordan, no sir. I did not kill him; that’s cut and dry. It’s not like I was even there when he was killed. I feel that both of us are pawns in a game. Of course, I’m upset for the way he did it.”Like Demery, he admitted that he helped “dump” the man’s body and copped to driving James’ red Lexus, which was gifted to him by Michael, WRAL reported.

Demery reportedly pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit theft and was sentenced to life in prison plus 40 years. Green received a sentence of life in prison plus ten years.
It wasn’t until Demery was re-sentenced in 2008 that he became an eligible candidate for parole. Now 46-years-old, he has reportedly received 19 violations while imprisoned in North Carolina, including two for “substance possession” in Dec. 2021, according to CBS Sports.
No word on whether this contributed to Demery’s canceled parole.
