United States Airman Keith Williams was charged with first-degree rape after crossing state lines to engage in intercourse with a minor. The victim was 11-years-old when Williams had non-consensual sex with the child in her backyard while her family was away, the Northwest Florida Daily reported.
Williams, 25, was also charged with the electronic solicitation of a child. He met the girl online and started communicating with her in October on the dating app Badoo. According to an affidavit filed in Morgan County, Alabama’s District Court, the victim’s parents did not know about the rape until four months after it took place.
In February, the child’s father intercepted a friend request that Williams sent her on a Facebook page he had set up for his three children earlier. The profile had a photo of all three children.
The quick-thinking father posed as his daughter and asked Williams, “Do I know you?”
Williams then described what the child was wearing the night he raped her in the backyard and other obscene details about the incident.
“Ima (I’m going to) definitely marry you in the future lol (laughing out loud),” Williams reportedly responded.
He also said that although he lives in Florida, his flexible work schedule would allow him to leave and visit her now and then in Decatur, Alabama, where she lives.
On March 1, child services officials conducted a forensic interview with the child about the rape and other events surrounding her encounter with Williams to garner enough evidence for future court proceedings.
On April 29, a Morgan County judged approved warrants for Williams on first-degree rape, electronic solicitation of a minor and traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex act charges.
Keith Williams, an Air Force Senior Airman, stationed at Hurlburt Field Air Force Base, was arrested May 16 and released to the control of the military after posting a $60,000 bond. He cannot leave Alabama.
