In a surprising turn of events, Trevian Kutti, known as the former publicist of hip-hop superstar Kanye West, has found herself at the center of a 41-count indictment in Fulton County, Georgia.
The charges revolve around an alleged conspiracy to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, marking another chapter in the ongoing saga of the aftermath of that pivotal political contest.
The 41-count indictment was unsealed on Monday by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, sending shockwaves through the political and entertainment landscapes.
Among the 18 names listed in the indictment, one stood out: Trevian C. Kutti, once a figure in Kanye West’s orbit. The charges against Kutti are related to her alleged involvement in a coordinated effort to pressure election worker Ruby Freeman into making false statements about election fraud.
Kutti’s alleged involvement in the conspiracy centers around her interactions with Ruby Freeman, a Georgia election worker who found herself thrust into the spotlight after baseless claims of election fraud emerged following the 2020 presidential election. The indictment suggests that Kutti visited Freeman’s home and engaged in conduct that implied Freeman could face serious legal consequences if she did not support the election fraud narrative.

According to the indictment, Kutti, along with other individuals, is accused of unlawfully conspiring to solicit false statements and writings from Freeman, with the intent to influence her testimony about events at State Farm Arena during the election. Additionally, Kutti is alleged to have engaged in misleading conduct towards Freeman, purportedly offering help and protection while seeking to influence her testimony.
Trevian Kutti’s association with Kanye West dates back to at least 2018, when she ceased working with controversial singer R. Kelly. Reports suggest that Kutti was associated with West’s public relations efforts during that time, though the exact timeline of their working relationship remains unclear. In September 2018, Kutti reportedly claimed to be secured as West’s publicist and Director of Operations.
However, a spokesperson for Kanye West stated in December 2021 that Kutti was not associated with West or any of his enterprises at the times relevant to the allegations.
The indictment comes at a time when the political landscape remains polarized, and conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election continue to circulate. While the legal process will ultimately determine the outcome of these allegations, the case raises questions about the extent of misinformation campaigns and efforts to undermine the integrity of the electoral process.
