Judge Greg Mathis Accused Of Pulling Gun On LA City Workers

Judge Greg Mathis has denied claims of him pulling a gun on city workers in Los Angeles, TMZ reported.

Sources familiar with the situation told TMZ that an LA Department of Water and Power employee accused Mathis in a report on Tuesday of threatening the company’s employees with his gun amid a heated disagreement.

The employee claimed that Mathis got upset when they asked

if he could move his vehicle, and things escalated when the celebrity judge brought out his gun and pointed it at the workers.

However, Mathis told TMZ reporters a different story. He said the employees were blocking his vehicle, preventing him from pulling out of his driveway. Mathis alleged that he stood in the street, and the employees warned they’d hit him with their work truck if he didn’t move. Taking that as a threat, he said he notified them that he had a gun but never brought it out or pointed it.

At some point, the moment got intense and caused the LADWP employees to contact the police to get them involved, and a report was filed.

The situation resulted in the LADWP pushing their work further down the road.

Mathis was the memorable judge from the TV show Judge Mathis, which aired in September 1999. In February 2023, reports surfaced stating Judge Mathis was canceled after running for 24 seasons.

Mathis confirmed the news with fans but clarified that it wouldn’t be the last time they would see him in his judge attire, according to Sis2Sis.

“But the good news is the other studios aren’t getting out of the judge business,” Mathis said. “And as you can see with this robe still on, something might be happening real soon. And, in fact, if it does happen, it’s going to be, and it will, with a Black studio this time.”
