Conservative sports journalist Jason Whitlock has claimed that George Floyd was a victim of his own self-destructive behavior and that the “deification of George Floyd” is racist.
Whitlock wrote an op-ed published in the Blaze on June 22 that blames Floyd, not Derek Chauvin, for his death. Whitlock said that Floyd wasn’t an innocent victim of racial injustice such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Medgar Evers and Emmett Till, but a victim of his drug addiction.
“Floyd is not Jesus,” he wrote. “He’s not Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, or Medgar Evers, black men who died tragically in service of promoting racial fairness. Floyd isn’t Crispus Attucks, the first man killed in America’s Revolutionary War. Floyd isn’t Emmett Till, an innocent victim of anti-black bigotry.”
Whitlock apparently had a problem with the George Floyd statues erected in Brooklyn and Newark, New Jersey. He also complained that Floyd was a pawn used by activists, celebrities, politicians and media personalities who exploit Floyd by transforming a porn star and violent criminal into a national hero. He also said they have no respect for Black people while failing to capitalize the B in Black.
“George Floyd is a prop corporate media uses for attention, a pawn liberal politicians use to push policy, and a punching bag social activists use as a symbol to explain black people and promote themselves. A prop, a pawn, and a punching bag.”
“The politicians, activists, celebrity influencers, and media personalities — the exploiters of George Floyd — are determined to transform an amateur porn star, violent criminal, and drug abuser into a national hero. They do so because they have no respect for black men or black people.”
The very lost conservative also compared several activists and liberals to satan. Whitlock called out Anderson Cooper, Chris Cuomo, Shaun King, Jemele Hill, Michael Eric Dyson, Al Sharpton, LeBron James, Joy Reid, Colin Kaepernick, as well as news outlets Buzzfeed, the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Daily Beast for being satanic cultural elites.
“The entire satanic cabal of cultural elites, both white and black, are using George Floyd and other forms of racial division to overthrow a flawed system of governance that has outperformed any other system ever invented.”
Then the fool said that Floyd was only relevant because of the actions of Chauvin and emphasized the fact that Chauvin is white.
“George Floyd is relevant only because of the actions of Derek Chauvin, a white police officer….It’s offensive to build a statue celebrating a man whose most memorable accomplishment is having a policeman kneel on his neck and back for nine minutes. It’s insane.”
Chile! And he still wasn’t done with his rant after blaming Floyd for his murder. He ranted about one of the statues wearing “a wife beater” and depicting Black men as lazy.
“The statue in Newark has Floyd seated on a park bench wearing a “wifebeater” shirt,” said Whitlock. “I’m shocked the sculptor didn’t put a crack pipe in one hand and a 40-ounce of beer in the other.
He ended his rhetoric by claiming the left was responsible for systematic racism and that challenging them is the duty of true patriots and Americans.
