On the show, the podcast crew and Bryant talked about a variety of debatable topics. One of them is the former football player and civil rights activist Kaepernick.
Bryant, who played eight seasons for the NFL, said he respected Kaepernick because he believes that Kaepernick brought awareness to an issue that needed to be shed light on. However, he mentioned that his protest didn’t have a call to action.
“I respect Colin Kaepernick, but It’s one thing that I don’t respect,” he said. “I love him to death, it ain’t no hate, but Brother, you had the biggest opportunity in the world to create jobs, build jobs, give jobs to people. Where are you at? I ain’t heard from you. I reached out to you. Where are you at?”
Podcast member Brandon Marshall then asked, “But where’s the call to action?”
Bryant responded with, “there wasn’t one; there wasn’t no call to action.”
On Twitter, sports reporter Jamele Hill quickly clapped back at Bryant’s statements, saying that he was uninformed and that she didn’t see the point of Bryant dragging Kaepernick’s name.
During the interview, Bryant covered different aspects of his life and football. Also, he decided to call out the hypocrisy of certain NFL players that tweeted in support of Black Lives Matter only because the NFL asked them to.
