A bizarre case of a serial bank robbery and plastic surgery reached its apex on Monday. An individual named Iconic Facee pleaded guilty to two counts of bank robbery in Harrison County, Mississippi.
On March 29, 2019, police responded to an alarm at BancorpSouth where bank employees said that Facee walked in and handed the teller a note that read, “you have one min to give the money do not be wrong are die.”
According to WLOX, after the first teller complied, she was told to hand the note to a second teller.
Police later found an abandoned Cadillac near the scene of the crime and records showed that the car was registered to Iconic Facee, who had been seen fleeing the vehicle shortly after the robbery. A course of clever detective work revealed that Facee’s cell phone pinged near the bank at the time of the robbery.
Facee, whose birth name is Jimmy Maurice Lewis II, has a history of bank robbery. Iconic had several previous arrests in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Texas. In 2009, Facee robbed a bank in Alabama’s northern district and served 51 months. In that robbery, the brazen thief demanded $20,000. After serving over four years and being released, Facee did a legal name change.
Facee was accused of two bank robberies in December 2007, one in Dalton, Georgia, and Plano, Texas. At one point on a return flight from having plastic surgery in Mexico, she was arrested at a Los Angeles airport.
Facee, a transgender woman, used bank robbery to finance many cosmetic procedures. In fact, the suspect was detained on March 30, 2019 at George Bush Intercontinental Airport as a plane arrived from Mexico. The facial bandages the bandit was wearing were indicative of having had another surgery of some kind on the face.
Unfortunately, putting so much time and crime into one’s looks didn’t pay off. Facee was sentenced to two 15-year prison sentences that will run concurrently by Judge Randi Peresich Mueller.
It looks like the only thing that will be iconic are Facee’s mugshots.
