Former Denver Broncos Demaryius Thomas was found dead in his Roswell, Ga. home on Dec. 9. Thomas reportedly suffered from a seizure while he was in the shower.
According to a cousin of the NFL star, Thomas suffered from seizures for about one year. After a friend could not get ahold of Thomas, he called the NFL baller’s driver to check on him. The driver found Thomas in the shower.
“We’re not sure when he died. We just spoke with him yesterday,” she said. “He was alone and a friend couldn’t get hold of him, so he called his driver, who has a key because of these seizures, and he went into his home and found him in the shower.”
The Denver Broncos released a statement noting Thomas’ kindness and humility.
“We are devastated and completely heartbroken. Demaryius’ humility, warmth, kindness and infectious smile will always be remembered by those who knew him and loved him.”
