A Florida mother whose 15-year-old son allegedly ruined her home, Charmaine Yarde, has spoken out after footage of the wreckage went viral.
The mom took to social media to air out her grievances about the footage, revealing that her son–believed initially to be 12 years old–destroyed her home due to mental illness. The user who originally posted the video to TikTok on Sept. 15, @mainemaserati, wrote that the teen had done so because his cellphone was taken away.
“It really sucks that I have to make a video to prove that this damage that was done to my life is real and that my friend betrayed me and sent this video out to the public,” Yarde said
in another viral clip.She continued, revealing her son’s height and addressing commenters who said he deserved an a** whooping.
“This apartment, I have to fix this, and it’s not funny..my son is six feet tall [and] he’s not 12, he’s 15. He’s 270 lbs, so no, I couldn’t spank him, and he’s mentally ill,” she said.
Yarde added that she’s been dealing with her home being in shambles after her son’s alleged fits for 15 years. She claimed to have shared a video of the most recent damage to a friend who posted it online behind her back.
“It just sucks that I trusted someone, and they sent the video out, and now everyone is looking at my hurt,” the Florida mother said.
A GoFundMe account was created days later to allegedly assist Yarde with cleaning up her residence. A woman claiming to be her best friend named Anny Franco allegedly launched the page.
“Hi, my name is Anny. I am creating this GoFund for my best friend Charmaine Yarde, who is in desperate need of assistance,” Franco wrote. “Five years ago, she moved to Florida and lost everything she owned in the moving truck. She then became homeless with her two kids since the family she stayed with could not handle her son’s mental issues (he has been refusing to take his medication for some time, causing him to be unstable)…He destroyed anything that was breakable windows, dishes, TVs, tablets, refrigerator, and work equipment. Even the counter and toilet was broken. The damage to her personal belongings could be replaced over time, but the damage and destruction to the apartment will be the most to repair and replace.”
She’s raised over $30,000–$20,000 more than her $10,000 goal.
