Dwayne, “The Rock” Johnson, would like to be a presidential candidate if more U.S. citizens would support his future career move.
The Today Show reported that Johnson shared his presidential ambitions with American television personality Willie Geist.
The 48-year-old retired wrestler turned actor has been hinting at a White House bid for a while. According to a national survey from Piplsay, 46 % of people would like the high-paid actor to run for president.
“I do have that goal to unite our country, and I also feel that if this is what the people want, then I will do that,” said Johnson.
He also added on his Twitter page the stereotypical views of a U.S. president, but it would be an honor to serve the country and join the club.
Not sure our Founding Fathers ever envisioned a six-four, bald, tattooed, half-Black, half-Samoan, tequila drinking, pick up truck driving, fanny pack wearing guy joining their club – but if it ever happens it’d be my honor to serve the people 🙏🏾💪🏾🇺🇸 https://t.co/6Xd9ADzqX7

He also discussed his political goals on his NBC semiautobiographical sitcom, Young Rock, and an older Rock is running for president in 2032, 11 years from now. In his interview with the Daily News in February, Johnson acknowledged that becoming president is hard work and that he often thinks about people’s views about him.
“I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted,” the former wrestler said.
“Truly, I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer,” said Johnson. “So I would wait, and I would listen .”I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground.”
Johnson ended the segment with Geist stating that he is passionate about reuniting and a country is much stronger when we all come together as one and would like to see our country in that state.
