According to CBS News, the Centner Academy in Miami told their employees that it’s now school policy not to employ those who have been vaccinated for COVID-19.
The private school sent an email to the staff advising them of the new policy and instructing them not to get vaccinated.
“It is our policy, to the extent possible, not to employ anyone who has taken the experimental COVID-19 injection until further information is known,” said the email.
Why the school believes that the COVID-19 vaccine doesn’t work is unclear, and the school provided no receipts. The Center Academy is run by David and Leila Centner, who are Trump supporters.
The couple donated $1 million to the Trump Victory fund in 2020. Many Trump supporters don’t support vaccinations. Forty-one percent of Republicans said they would not get vaccinated, which may explain the couple’s I-reckon-reasoning. However, their Führer-in-chief, Donald Trump, was vaccinated in January and told his followers to do the same.
“It’s a great vaccine, it’s a safe vaccine and it’s something that works,” said Trump.
The New England Journal of Medicine published a report in February agreeing that the Pfizer vaccine worked and prevented infection of COVID-19 by 92%. It also found for those infected, the vaccine prevented 92% of those who obtain it from having side effects and 87% of the infected from being hospitalized with COVID-19.
Despite the evidence, it would appear that the Centners are against the COVID vaccine.
According to CBS Miami, Leila Centner claimed that no one was threatened with losing their job at the school, but she was caught saying otherwise in a staff video conference call.
“I have to draw a line in the sand today and tell you if you want to get, this is not going to be the right school for you.”
Another staff member at the school claimed that vaccinated employees would only be kept away from students attending classes but that they would be on the payroll.
