Darius Williams, known to the food blogging world as Darius Cooks, has been accused of being a con artist by fellow food blogger Angela Davis, aka The Kitchenista. TheGrio reported that Davis had accused Williams of being a crook on Instagram back in June.
Davis shared a conversation she had on Instagram with a woman who claimed that Williams was a con artist and had assaulted her when she was a server at his restaurant Soul Crab in Atlanta.
Kiara Ross claims that she worked for Williams as a server for a month and was never paid. When she confronted Williams upset, Ross said that he tried to drag her out of the restaurant. Williams was later arrested for the incident.
“I was a server at his seafood restaurant in Atlanta and he got arrested for putting his hands on me after I had a fit after he didn’t pay me after working for him for almost a month. I still never got paid.”
Sunny Anderson from the Food Network also had an incident with Williams. She said that she had several complaints from customers who never received their order from his delivery service, Fresh2Go, despite having given payment. Anderson had considered investing in the business but ultimately was advised not to by her attorney. Anderson called him to confront him and he hung up on her.
“There were complaints that people had given their credit card information but no delivery,” she said. “They reached out to me because he was on my show. I called him to ask what was going on and he hung up. I called back and he never picked up again.”

Williams and Davis have been trading comments about the accusations on social media, and Williams seemingly addressed the issue on Twitter on July 5.
“I wish people understood that keeping my name in your mouth does more good for me than you think,” he wrote. “Three weeks ago, you tried and failed. Now, here we are again. Welp. Let’s make some more money!!!”
On July 9, Davis posted on Twitter that Williams committed fraud by faking a TV schedule for a commercial suit.
There’s so many BIG lies when you look at #dariuscrooks past but even the little lies are crazy. This is his old blog. He was documenting a “commercial shoot” for a new “product” he launched. The screenshot of the tv schedule isn’t real. Did a reverse image search. 🤦🏾♀️🙄 pic.twitter.com/GRIwIPMhuG

It doesn’t seem like the back and forth will be over anytime soon.
