David Robinson and a private investigator discovered human bones while searching for his missing son, Daniel, in a desert close to Buckeye, Arizona.
On Sunday, David and the investigator took to Twitter, where they updated the public on search efforts for the young geologist who disappeared on June 23. The two men discovered the remains but speculated that they didn’t belong to his son. David and the P.I. did express that the bones did have to be identified and that hopefully, another family will gain closure.
“Saturday, November 6, my weekly searches for my son Geologist Daniel Robinson has again uncovered human remains out in the desert of Buckeye, AZ, hopefully bringing some closure to another grieving family. The human remains is not Daniel. I will continue my searches for my son,” the determined father wrote.

ABC 15 reported that the Buckeye Police Department did respond to a call about remains being found in the desert location. The bones are being officially tested for identification purposes.
NewsOnyx previously reported Robinson went missing after he left a remote work location near Buckeye. His jeep was discovered on July 19 in a ravine. It appeared that it had been involved in a wreck.
David has expressed frustration about the nonchalant attitude of local police.
Although the 24-year-old’s father doesn’t think there has been enough national attention on his son’s disappearance, Jada Pinkett-Smith and crew along with Daniel’smother, Melissa Edmonds, spoke about the young man on Facebook’s Red Table Talk on October 14.
The distraught parents opened up about the range of emotions they’ve felt through the process, including when their son went missing.
“I just knew immediately that things wasn’t right because Daniel, he would never, ever, ever not answer his phone first of all, and the second thing is not tell us where he is going,” David said.
His mother, while holding a photo of her son, teared up as she talked about him.
“Just looking at him is so difficult. We want to talk to him, we want to hug him. Daniel is my hero,” Edmonds expressed in the episode. She also played a voicemail from Daniel, where he expressed his love for her.
Since his son’s disappearance, David has relocated to Arizona to continue the search.
