In Hamden, Connecticut, police took an angry 25-year-old into custody after he allegedly pulled a gun on two women because they didn’t tell him “thank you” for opening the door for them at a Family Dollar on Saturday around 3:15 p.m.
A news release claimed that local police responded to a call about the suspect reportedly pointing a gun at customers in front of a Family Dollar store located at 1245 Dixwell Avenue. A witness told officials that Joshua Murray’s bitterness stemmed from him not receiving a “thank you” for holding the door open for the women. No one was injured.
Upon searching the area, Hamden Police discovered Murray on Helen Street with the gun and arrested him — officials claimed he “interfered with officers during his arrest.”
Murray was charged with carrying a firearm without a permit, two counts of second-degree Breach of Peace, and resisting arrest. His next appearance in Meriden Superior Court is scheduled for Aug. 2, 2022. He was held on a $25,000 bond.
The names or identities of the two women victims have not been disclosed. And it’s uncertain if the police got in contact with them.
Pulling a gun on women who don’t thank you for opening the door for them is kinda… extreme. I just give them a look and go about my day😅

Welcome to the US where you can have a gun drawn on you because you didn’t say thank you to someone holding a door for you 😐😐

I say thank you really loud when someone hold the door and I wave when I’m in my car and someone let me over. It sounds simple but mental health is a real. The smallest thing can trigger someone

Was he wrong for pulling a gun on them gor failing to thank him for holding the door? Yes. Was he wrong for carrying said gun without a permit? Yes. Would it have killed those ladies to say thank you especially when people are rarely courteous anymore? Nope.

Situations like these are why women fear for their lives in this world.
