Right-wing conservative Candace Owens recently visited the home of Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors and demanded she provides information regarding the organization’s funds.
On Saturday, Owens showed up unannounced with a camera crew outside Cullors’ home, asking the 38-year-old questions about the organization and how she allegedly misused the funds collected by donors nationwide.
The conservative pundit plans to use the footage for a documentary to expose the social activist and the organization. On Sunday, the 33-year-old took to Instagram and denounced Cullors’ claims that she showed up at her house and “demanded” to speak with her.
“Patrice Cullors of Black Lives Matter is about to be exposed as a fraud, and she knows it. She just did a LIVE on Instagram complete with fake crocodile tears pretending that I showed up to her house and ‘demanded’ to speak with her,” she said in the caption.
She continued, “She claims she is ‘unsafe.’ I am 8 months pregnant, and I showed up by myself — (with my small film crew) and politely asked if there was anyone available I could speak to. LOL.”
In the two-minute and 50-second clip, Owens spoke about the BLM founders purchasing “million-dollar homes in white neighborhoods” while watching Cullors’ on Instagram Live as she recounted the incident.
“They also purchased a Black Lives Matter property. So we went to the property and asked if there was anyone that we could speak to, very politely. By the way, we’ve got cameras in tow,” Owens explained.
She added, “What you are seeing right now is the face of a woman who’s pretending to be afraid of right-wing pundits when in reality, she’s being exposed as a fraud who took millions, used the faces of Black people, took millions of dollars to fund herself, to fund her lifestyle, to fund her girlfriend, and to buy million-dollar mansions in neighborhoods where no Black people live.”
In the Live, Cullors told her followers that Owens was hostile toward her and had mistaken her home for the foundation’s headquarters.
“She was demanding that I come outside,” Cullors tearfully explained to her viewers on the social platform.
She continued, “It’s really unacceptable, and it’s dangerous, when Candace Owens, another black woman, who is actually working as a part of the right-wing agenda, comes outside of my house with cameras.”
“What happened this morning is not safety,” Cullors sobbed. “It’s not what I deserve. It’s not what any of us deserve, so just be diligent when you see sh*t in the media because they are purposefully doing this… they are purposefully building a wedge between Black people because they know when we are together, we are stronger,” Cullors added.
In April, New York Magazine’s Sean Campbell revealed the $6 million home Black Lives Matter leaders Patrice Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Melina Abdullah purchased in Southern California. News Onyx reported that the three women faced criticism for allegedly buying the property with donation funds while concealing the transaction.
Cullors stepped down as executive director of Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation in May 2021.
