Dee’ago’s mother, Ryanna Jones, alleged that her baby’s father admitted to punching their child, telling KTLA that Flowers said he hit Jones after tripping on a controller for video games. The two parents and their son were staying in the South Los Angeles motel due to being in a shelter program for homeless families, according to ABC 7.
Ryanna told KTLA about the incident, “He told me that he didn’t think he hit him that hard for him to pass away. And I kept telling him stop hitting my son. And every time I told him to stop, I got the outcome. I was getting beat up.”

According to ABC 7, the California father was listed as a person of interest in Dee’ago’s death before being taken into police custody. The young father was arrested on Wednesday and had his bail set at $100,000, KTLA reported.
Flowers now faces charges for “murder and assault on a child causing death,” NBC Los Angeles reported.
