Buffalo Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin has been discharged

from the hospital after suffering cardiac arrest, reports say.

The Bills’ announced Damar’s discharge from the hospital via Twitter on Jan. 11, after over a week of hospitalization. He’s reportedly been showing signs of improvement in the days leading up to his release from Buffalo General Medical Center in New York.

“We have completed a series of tests and evaluations, and in consultation with the team physicians, we are confident that Damar can be safely discharged to continue his rehabilitation at home and with the Bills,” Dr. Jamie Nadler, a physician leading Hamlin’s care in Buffalo, said in a statement via the Bills’ Twitter page.

The previous day, its social media team tweeted that Damar went through “a comprehensive medical evaluation as well as a series of cardiac, neurological and vascular testing.” However, no cause of his cardiac arrest has been announced.

“Special thank-you to Buffalo General it’s been nothing but love since arrival! Keep me in y’all prayers please!” he tweeted that day.

On Jan. 7, he gave his concerned fans an Instagram update as he was recovering from cardiac arrest, News Onyx reported.

“When you put real love out into the world, it comes back to you 3x’s as much,” the Bills safety wrote in the Instagram post. “The Love has been overwhelming, but I’m thankful for every single person that prayed for me and reached out. We brung the world back together behind this. If you know m,e you know this only gone make me stronger. On a long road, keep praying for me! [red heart emoji] #3strong,” he wrote that day.

He made his post just days after he suffered cardiac arrest during a Bills’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals on January 2. He reportedly collapsed on the field just minutes after tackling Bengals’ wide receiver Tee Higgins. That day, paramedics rushed him to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
However, it seems like he’s been in good spirits since then.
