NFL Damar Hamlin, safety for the Buffalo Bills, was transported off the field during their game against the Cincinnati Bengals on January 2. After completing a tackle, he collapsed. According to Fox 19, in the middle of the first quarter, Hamlin made a hit on the Bengals wide receiver just before the incident. The transport to the hospital was urgent, and the 24-year-old was reportedly breathing with assistance.

Following initial reports, Hamlin’s representative, Hamlin, began tweeting updates on his friend. He told the public about the progression of his treatment as well as offered information on how to support him in his time of need.

Update on Damar:
His vitals are back to normal and they have put him to sleep to put a breathing tube down his throat. They are currently running tests.

The Bills versus Bengals game was postponed following the shocking event, and the NFL issued a statement detailing that Hamlin did receive medical care on the field immediately following his collapse and that they also will continue to keep fans, staff, and players updated with Hamlin’s condition.

The Buffalo Bill’s official Twitter most recently explained what caused the January 2 incident. The establishment wrote, “Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field, and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment,”
