New York detectives have detained three suspects concerning the death of a 52-year-old cab driver who was viciously beaten after a group bailed on the fare.
News 12 reported that two 20-year-olds, Austin Amos and Nickolas Porter, and a 15-year-old teen girl were arrested and charged with theft of services and gang assault. Amos also faces other assault and manslaughter charges.
Police released the video of the horrific attack that occurred in the early morning hours of August 13. Kutin Gyimah, who lived in the Bronx, picked up a group of five individuals, ranging from ages 13-20. He drove the suspects to Far Rockaway, Queens, where they refused to pay the fare. The group allegedly attacked the father of four and also attempted to rob him. Video footage revealed the group violently punched and kicked Gyimah after he pursued the alleged fare jumpers.

After brutally beating the cab driver, the suspects left him in the street. The suspects dispersed and could be seen laughing in the hallways of an unknown building. The 52-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The alleged attackers left a family devastated. A GoFundMe was launched with a goal of $250,000. The fundraising site has raised $211,598 that will go toward helping with funeral services and his children, ages 8, 7, 5 and 3.
