BLM Founder Patrisse Cullors Allegedly Spent Thousands Renovating Her Lavish $1.4M Home

Black Lives Matter (BLM) founder Patrisse Cullors allegedly spent thousands of dollars renovating her lavish $1.4 million LA home.

According to the New York Post, Cullors allegedly spent thousands of dollars on renovating the backyard of her expensive home in Los Angeles, California. The updates reportedly include constructing a new plunge pool, a backyard sauna, and a new children’s play area for her young son.

Photos obtained by The Post show a swing set, a slide in the play area, and a small shed containing a sauna. It also reveals that the pool hasn’t had water added to it yet.

News Onyx reported that the former Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation leader stepped down from her post as the organization’s executive director in May 2021. She resigned after eight years of being an involved activist following allegations that she misappropriated BLM donations.

Cullors then began facing intense scrutiny, as New York Magazine’s Sean Campbell revealed

the $6 million home she and former fellow BLM leaders Alicia Garza and Melina Abdullah purchased in Southern California. The three women were collectively criticized for allegedly buying the property with donation funds while attempting to hide the transaction.

The now 39-year-old Cullors reportedly said the property wasn’t purchased for personal use but a “meeting venue and a campus for Black artists.” However, during an interview with the Associated Press in May, she admitted to using it twice for personal reasons.

Conservative Candace Owens even allegedly visited Cullors’ home that month and demanded that she provide information regarding BLM’s funds. The organization’s founder alleged that Owens showed up with a camera crew outside her home and asked if she misused the money collected by donors nationwide.

In September, BLM’s newest leader, Shalomyah Bowers, was reportedly accused of using $10 million in donations to pay his privately owned Bowers Consulting Firm.
