Black Tampa Man Allegedly Raped, Kidnapped DoorDash Worker, And He Robbed A Different Woman The Next Day

A Black Florida man sitting in jail is facing criminal charges for his alleged and bizarre involvement in a five-day crime spree that involved him raping, kidnapping, robbing, and shooting a DoorDash delivery driver, the victim’s family, and a 40-year-old woman at the same apartment complex.

On April 22, Earth Day 2023, Joseph Killins was arrested for what he allegedly did to a DoorDash driver on the night of April 18 – he allegedly held her at gunpoint, forced her to drive to the location at the Belara Lakes Apartment complex in Tampa, Fla., where he allegedly raped her,

The New York Post reported.

Killins, who is currently being held at the Orient Road Jail, faces charges of armed kidnapping, robbery with a firearm, armed rape and aggravated assault with a weapon in connection with the April 18-19 attack.

The woman allegedly involved is in her 20s, and her abduction took place around 11 p.m.

Instead of initially calling the police, the victim’s family, who claimed she was in danger without explaining how they knew, tracked her location via her cell phone.

“The victim’s family, who had been tracking her phone, arrived and rescued her from the car. Killins responded by firing multiple times,” police said.

Killins reportedly fired several shots and struck a family member of the victim’s girlfriend, another woman in her 20s, before fleeing the scene.

Killins’ alleged terror did not stop at kidnapping, raping, and shooting. The next day, he allegedly targeted a woman who lived in the same apartment complex.

The 40-year-old woman was punched in the face, knocking her to the ground, where Killins allegedly stole her backpack.

This time, however, Killins was allegedly last seen that day retreating to a nearby location eight minutes away, the Haven Waters Edge apartment complex.

With the two detectives assigned to both incidents working closely together, this piece of information led their investigation to find him hiding at the Tampa Inn Hotel late on the night of April 21, where authorities arrested him.

“We are appalled by this heinous and abhorrent crime. No one should ever have to endure something as horrific as this and we’re here to support the Dasher in any way we can, said DoorDash spokesperson Julian Crowley.

“We’re grateful to Tampa Police for their work to hold the perpetrator accountable and we strongly hope justice is served.”
