Apple Cider Donut Is New Limited Edition Oreo Flavor; Get Them While They Last

Nabisco is changing its Oreo game for fall. Apple Cider Donut is the newest limited-edition flavor, and the long-awaited cookie is now available in stores.

In early July, Oreo announced that its apple cider donut variety would hit stores in time for the fall season.

As of seven days ago, cookie enthusiasts do not have to wait any longer. The sweet treats hit stores and seem to be a hit already.

The cookie is made with golden Oreos, and the filling, arguably the best part of any variety, is cider-flavored.

This new flavor is being accompanied by another fall offering called Salted Caramel Brownie. Those have two layers of creme. One of them is caramel, and the other is brownie flavored. A sprinkle of salt on top gives the cookie extra panache.

The cider variety is sold out on the Oreo website, where cookie enthusiasts can order directly from the company. However, salted caramel is still available.

Although the new flavors have been out for a week, some Nabisco customers have expressed concern about how the company treats those responsible for gifting the public these quick and satisfying desserts.

Bakers are on strike across the country due to Nabsico’s plans to change their shifts and health benefits. The strike includes employees at bakeries that make Oreo, Chips Ahoy cookies and Ritz Crackers.

Employees say that they sacrificed and worked long hours during the pandemic to accommodate the increased demand that resulted from quarantine. Now that the country has re-opened, they claim Nabisco and parent company Mondelez International, Inc. wants to close two bakeries and make employees take concessions even in the face of record profits during the pandemic.

The first in 52 years, the strike is

expanding, and over 1,000 employees nationwide are now participating.

In other words, any customers wanting to experience the newest flavors should act quickly. The strike is almost sure to slow down production.
