Anthony Black Moving Up In 2023 NBA Draft, A Promising Prospect

It’s NBA draft week, and tension runs high as fans wait to see which fresh players could improve the teams’ rosters to lead them to NBA championship status ultimately.

The current hot ticket is 19-year-old superstar Victor Wembanyama from France, the prospect for the San Antonio Spurs.

But another future NBA star, 19-year-old Anthony Black, who was in place with the Orlando Magic but

traded to the No. 8 pick with the Washington Wizards, is garnering much attention and possibly moving up the ranks.

Prior to Black being traded for the Wizards, Cam Whitmore was a pick for the team. Now, Whitmore is switched to the Detroit Pistons.

According to Yahoo Sports’ Krysten Peek, the Utah Jazz are looking to trade up, and their eyes are on Black.

“Black is one of the most-talked-about names trending toward the top of the draft and could be off the board as high as No. 6 to the Orlando Magic,” Pee said. “The Jazz have three first-round picks (Nos. 9, 16 and 28) and could be looking to package picks to trade up for Black, the 6-foot-7 guard out of Arkansas. Black is arguably the fifth-best prospect in this draft class, outside of team need, in the way he sees the court, passes at a high level and plays elite defense on the perimeter.”

If the Jazz wants to trade up, they will need to part ways with their No. 9, 16 or 28 pick.

For right now, the top ten ringers are Wembanyama, Brandon Miller, Scoot Henderson, Amen Thompson, Ausar Thompson, Blac, Jarace Walker, Kobe Bufkin, Cam Whitmore and Taylor Hendricks.
