Georgia police were called to a McDonald’s because of a dispute over an unhappy customer being served cold fries on Friday, Aug. 5. Cobb County police ended up arresting the customer for his alleged connection to a woman’s murder, the Macon Telegraph reported.
A McDonald’s owner and customer, 24-year-, calledSims both called 911 and explained to cops that he was served cold fries at a McDonald’s located on Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw. Sims’ account of the incident is that the owner yelled at him and refused to give Sims his order in the proper state he requested.
“The fires are lukewarm, but they’re not hot,” Sims told the officer. “So, I just asked him, ‘could we get some fresh fries.'”
The establishment’s owner told the officers that Sims cursed at him and demanded him to “fix my f**king food” and threw his drink at him. He said he offered to give him a refund even after Sims threw his drink, but the man wanted a refund and his food fixed. The owner also pointed out that Sims was wearing an ankle bracelet.
After running Sims’ name through the police database, authorities discovered that he was out on bond and had an active arrest warrant. Sims is allegedly connected
to the death of Adelisa Murtovic, whose body was found inside a burning vehicle on Oct. 29, 2018. Three men were connected to the murder, Michael Smith and Deshaun Flournoy turned themselves in, but Sims ran from the police. They eventually caught and arrested him in Wisconsin.The active arrest warrant was for failure to appear.
Police tried to blindside him by asking Sims to sign a form confirming he wouldn’t return to that location and that he would be arrested if he did. Sims continuously asked if he was being arrested, and the police said “no” and asked him to move closer to sign the form.
Catching on, he backed away and told the cops he feared them. And one of the police officers told him he had nothing to fear. They just needed him to sign the form. Sims continued asking if he was being arrested, and eventually, the cop dropped the act and said “yes,” prompting the alleged murderer to run.
Body cam footage shows officers caught up to the 24-year-old at a nearby apartment complex. One of the officers tased him, allowing them to arrest him.
According to Cobb County booking records, he is still in custody without bond.
